On the morning of that day
I was in my house in Showery Young village.

My children and some friends were with me in the house on that day.
My husband was with me also. This was at about 8 a.m. at breakfast time, but I had no clock, so cannot speak exactly. On the 22nd November 1880 there was a ceremony in our house (in connection with leaving off mourning for my father and mother). Whilst we were doing this the grandfather of Yeung Mingkiong Fai and a crowd of men armed with spears and guns came to our house. This was at daylight. When we saw them coming we got frightened and shut the back door and closed it. Then Yeung Sing Fai and the other men fired at the door and broke it open and came into the house and killed the 8th defendant's wife who was called Chan Fan, and killed two children also belonging to the 8th defendant. The 8th defendant was in my house at the time, he did not live there, but was present at the ceremony. Before they broke open the back door some body tried to get in at the front door, but I don't know who. I think all the defendants were present in the house at that time, but am not sure. They all ran out of the front door. Ten women
